GHANA – UGANDA PREDICTION (17.01.2017)

On Tuesday, Group D of the Africa Cup of Nations will be launched. With Egypt, Mali and Uganda, Ghana caught a crunchy but manageable group and is considered a big favorite. At the start, the team will have to deal with Uganda. Is there the expected start-up? With betting around the 1.80er mark the favorite tip would be our first idea. But an analysis is meant to shed some light on the dark.

The four-time African champion Ghana has always had an extraordinary squad. This year, the defenders are Baba (Schalke), Midfielder Thomas (Atletico Madrid), Aenew (West Ham United), and Jordan Ayew (Aston Villa). Do not forget to mention superstar Asamoah Gyan, who is now playing in the Arabian area. The results last, however, were very sobering. Ghana has been without victory for five matches. The last success came in the 2-0 against Mauritania in June. Ghana played against Rwanda (1-1), Uganda (0-0) and South Africa (1-1), losing to Russia (0-1) and Egypt (0-2). So the team travels to Gabon with little self confidence. The squad quality for great deeds is available, but the final results were really full.

Uganda is, of course, the outsider in this game. Or do you know a prominent actor in Uganda? We do not at first. In our research, however, Farouk Miya (Standard Liège) and Kizito (Rio Ave) are praised as the best players in the squad. From the results it is noticeable that Uganda is a very defensive-oriented team. Of the last 20 duels, only 4 matches with more than two goals ended. Nevertheless, the results were manageable, because the last six duels were only two wins and three defeats, as well as the 0-0 against Ghana in the World Cup qualifying. Uganda is in line with the underdog’s bets, but as Ghana has little momentum, we are expecting a very tricky part.
