Levante
The Levante is undefeated in the tournament, although it does not present a brilliant sequence. After beating Villarreal 1-0 at home on Matchday 1, they drew their next three matches against La Coruña (2-2), Real Madrid (1 to 1) and Valencia (1 to 1). The results have been enough to keep the team away from the relegation zone, which is the main goal for the season.
Defender Ivan Lopez, who suffered a muscle injury and had to leave the duel against Real Madrid still in the initial stage, is doubtful for the match. He will still be submitted to a new examination, but he is more likely to be out of the confrontation.
Defensive foul is attacker Jose Morales. He will have to fulfill the third match of the suspension applied for having taken the red card in the draw against La Coruña.
The third low should be for striker Marti Roger, who has not yet played this season. He is recovering from a serious knee injury suffered in late July.
Real Sociedad
Real Sociedad lost the invincibility and leadership of the Spanish league, which they shared with Barcelona, when they were defeated at home on Sunday, Sept. 17, to Real Madrid, by 3 to 1.
It was his first stumble after three straight wins. Before, he had gone through Celta (3 to 2), Villarreal (3 to 0) and La Coruña (4 to 2). With nine points, he started the fifth round in third place.
Coach Eusebio Sacristan also lives with injuries to his athletes. In the ward are defenders Inigo Martinez and Raul Navas and midfielder Mikel Oyarzabal.
Martinez was injured just in the first match in which he was promoted as a starter. Should leave the field in the confrontation with La Coruña in the second half.
Navas may be considered a starter but has lost the last four starts due to back injury.
Oyarzabal is a young revelation with potential to gain ownership. However, he suffered an injury while serving Spain’s U21 team in the European Championship. According to information from the Spanish press, it is the trio who is more likely to receive the doctors’ green light and stay available for Thursday’s game.
