That the Ukraine could be the main candidate to take the lead in Group 1 of League B was quite predictable, perhaps a little less so that such a tussle could break out behind them. After the Ukraine in first place with six points (but in only two matches) there are in fact three teams all on three points (although Scotland also has one match less, but to be made up against the leaders). The Scots might have looked like the Ukrainians’ main antagonists, but in their last outing came a thunderous and unexpected defeat, especially in the way it came and the size of it. Ireland showed no mercy and went down hard…
In the derby, played at home, the Irish punished virtually every opponent’s distraction, finishing 3-0 up.
In the previous derby, however, Scotland were victorious against Armenia at home (2-0 the final result of the match in question).
However, it was also a good start for the Armenians, who got the better of Ireland at home, albeit by the narrowest of margins (1-0).
Although that was the only win and the only goal scored in the last four, in the space of which Armenia have suffered three defeats.
Particularly heavy was the loss on Norwegian soil in the friendly, in which Norway won 9-0!
Scotland will certainly have to offer a reaction after the bad performance against Ireland. On the other hand, Armenia will try to give an encore after beating the Irish at home. We expect a not particularly spectacular match: we play the option Under 1,5 first half/Under 2,5 second half.
