Arminia Bielefeld vs 1. FC Kaiserslautern: Preview & Prediction
Arminia Bielefeld finished off the season with five draws and five defeats. In the seven games until the winter break under Interimstrainer Carsten Rump and then under the new coach Jürgen Kramny the Arminia then recorded nine points. The hope for a continuation of this positive trend, however, was a damper at the start of the round with a 2: 3 defeat at Karlsruher SC. The reaction to this defeat in the new year fell positively with a 2: 1 victory against the TSV 1860 Munich and the entry into the quarterfinale of the DFB-Pokal by a 5: 4 after elimination shooting with Astoria Walldorf. As a result, Arminia lost a 3-1 defeat at 1. FC Union Berlin but did not get a 1-1 draw against FC St. Pauli. At Hannover 96 Bielefeld presented itself surprisingly well and took a not necessarily expected 2: 2 with. In the Cup quarter-finals at Eintracht Frankfurt the Arminia performed well, but with a 0: 1 but nevertheless. Lastly, two tough setbacks had to cope with the 2-2 defeat against Erzgebirge Aue after a 2-0 lead and the 1-0 win at 1. FC Nürnberg. In response, coach Kramny must go and against Lautern now sits again Rump as Interimscoach on the bench.
Like Bielefeld, the 1. FC Kaiserslautern did not have a good start. After nine game days the Pfälzer had only six points in the account, but then succeeded a series of three victories in series, followed by four draws at a time. Only after these seven encounters the FCK had to beat again in the last game before Christmas at 1. FC Nürnberg (1: 2). In the winter break, the surprising resignation of coach Tayfun Korkut caused a sensation, but Norbert Meier quickly found an experienced successor. And with Meier a good roundback started. After an unfortunate 1-0 defeat at Hannover 96, Lautern beat the Würzburger Kickers (1: 0), Fortuna Düsseldorf (1: 1) and SV Sandhausen (3-0) seven points from three games. Since then however no further victory succeeded, whereby the program however also in itself had. At the VfB Stuttgart (0: 2) losing is no shame and at Dynamo Dresden (3: 3) you have to take a point with you. Last weekend, however, they had promised more than a 1: 1 against 1. FC Heidenheim, but by unfortunate circumstances as well as a non-optimal refereeing performance it was only a 1: 1.
