Barcelona – Real Madrid : Preview & Prediction
It’s the big Clasico this weekend in La Liga! On the occasion of the 7th day of the championship, FC Barcelona welcomes Real Madrid for an obviously expected meeting.
Barcelona, who had a white season last year, must recover. After a change of coach, a squad review (departures of Suarez, Semedo, Rakitic or Arthur, arrivals of Countinho, Pjanic and Trincao among others) and the Messi episode, the Catalan club must rebuild. The season started off pretty well, without being exceptional with a record of 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss including tax. In La Liga, Barca lost to Getafe last weekend, but recovered in the Champions League this week against Hungarians Ferencvaros (5-1 win).
For his part, the champion Real started his season with a very lackluster match at Sociedad (0-0 and very few clear chances) before going to win at Bétis Sevilla in a much more open and rhythmic match ( 2-3 victory), then to win 1-0 against Valladolid and 0-2 at Levante. But since then, it’s been a nightmare week. A 0-1 loss to promoted Cadiz in La Liga, and a second to Shakhtar Donetsk’s near B-side in the Champions League on Wednesday (2-3, down 0-3 at halftime). A context not really favorable to the Merengue therefore, when it comes to tackling this game which may be decisive for the future of Zidane.
Barcelona finished first (out of 20) at home in La Liga last year with 16 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss.
Barcelona have scored 52 goals and conceded 16 in 19 home league games last year. Which made it the best attack as well as the 6th best defense!
Real Madrid finished first in La Liga away from home last year with 11 wins, 5 draws and 3 losses.
Madrid have scored 30 goals and conceded 14 in 19 away league games last year. Which made it the second best attack but above all the best defense!
Barça remains on a fine victory against Ferencvaros in the Champions League (5-1).
Real Madrid lost him against Donetsk on his lawn (2-3) …
The most watched game on the planet football! A Clasico unlike any other with two teams in poor shape at the start of the season, even if Barca still seem better, and especially offensively. Barca victory for us, on this classic forecast.
