Celta Vigo have been through difficult times lately, including two consecutive years in 17th, on the verge of relegation. Last year the season went much better and the club finished in 8th place. A much more satisfying season then, and Vigo has rarely been worried about the maintenance. This year, the club lost on hosting defending champions Atlético before coming back from Osasuna with a draw.
Athletic Bilbao have not had a good La Liga season since 2015/2016 with a fifth place finish. For 5 years therefore, the club has mainly played the middle of the table, and obviously hopes to do better this year.
