We expected Denmark to have a good run in this Euro 2020. However, football no longer seemed to be the priority after the first day of the group stage. Following Christian Eriksen’s heart failure, Kasper Hjulmand’s men, however, showed great courage. Since the attacking midfielder is getting better, his teammates have certainly been able to put a smile on his face. Back to the wall before the final meeting of the group stage, the Danish players impressed against Russia (4-1). A great success which allowed them to settle in second place in their group and to qualify for the knockout stages of this Euro 2020, against Wales.
And what about their start in the knockout stage? Kasper Schmeichel’s teammates pulled out all the stops against the Welsh. Thanks in particular to a double from Kasper Dolberg, Denmark offered itself a very large success (4-0) and easily qualified for the quarter-finals of the European competition. What to fill up with confidence for the future! Especially since the Danes have a real shot to play in this new meeting. They will find the Czech Republic, for a ticket for the last square of this Euro 2020. However, this Czech selection should not be underestimated. Jaroslav Šilhavý’s players managed to finish among the best third in the group stage, finishing with four points behind England and Croatia. They still managed to do what was necessary thanks to Tomas Holes and Patrik Schick to qualify for the rest (2-0). Against Denmark, the deal will still be very delicate for this quarter-final. So yes, the Czech nation can count on a Patrik Schick at the top of his game, with already four goals in the competition. Denmark, however, has a very solid defense that could manage to contain it.
And we have the impression that Denmark does not want to miss such an opportunity to join the last four of this Euro 2020. Having succeeded in particular to jostle Belgium in the game during the group stage, Kasper’s team Hjulmand has proven that he can compete with the best. In the last two matches, Denmark have managed to score almost eight goals and conceded just one. The Czech Republic could therefore not stand up to a selection which has everything to go very far in this competition. In a game that seems affordable for the Danish players, they will certainly manage to impress, once again, and carry on a little further in this Euro 2020.
