Egypt – South Africa : Preview & Prediction
Not just Momo Salah.Egypt in this African Cup has shown (if it were still needed) to be a real, organized team, perhaps not spectacular despite having among its ranks the Messi of the African continent, but really fearsome. One of the main candidates for the title, who can also count on the “home factor” as a further motivational boost. In the second round theEgypt will face a South Africa that, instead, has so far disappointed the expectations, managing to qualify only thanks to the victory against the not sure irresistible Namibia (two defeats complete the score of the group stage). Now Egypt really looks like a daunting obstacle for South Africans …
That of the victory against Namibia (1-0 the final result), is the only goal scored by South Africa in this African Cup.
In the other two races, in fact, the South Africa remained stuck of the net and points: defeat both against the Ivory Coast and against Morocco.
A closer look, however, both these defeats came in measure and with only one goal to the passive. So Egypt won’t have an easy life anyway …
Not that for South Africa, which has scored only one goal so far, it will be easy to tarnish the Egyptian wall (the door to Egypt is still unbeaten).
Three victories in three games for Momo Salah and his teammates in the qualifying round: 1-0 against Zimbabwe in his debut and then 2-0 against Congo and Uganda.
As often happens in the African Cup of Nations, and this edition is no exception, it is hard to see spectacular races with many goals. And this should be no exception, given the statistics of the two teams. We therefore choose the No Gol option.
