Fenerbahce – Zimbru Chisinau : Preview & Prediction
At the Ulker Stadyumu in Istanbul, Fenerbahce makes its official season debut by playing the first leg of the second round of Conference League qualifying against Moldovans Zimbru Chisinau. Ismail Kartal’s Fenerbahce has played two preparation friendlies so far, and after a 3-1 loss to Red Star Belgrade, it won 1-0 against Azerbaijan’s Netchi Baku thanks to Bosnian Edin Dzeko’s goal. Zimbru, on the other hand, had its hands full against San Marino-based La Fiorita in the 1st round: in San Marino it had ended 1-1, and in the return match in Moldova it was a goal by Denys Dedechko that gave Zimbru the victory.
Fenerbahce is making its season debut but with a much better staff than Zimbru Chisinau.
It will be played at the Fenerbahce field, which in its only previous home match against a Moldovan team, Sherif Tiraspol in the 2009/2010 season, won 1-0.
