Iran – Spain : Preview & Prediction
What a good introduction for Iran! Morocco’s victorious first day (0-1), the selection of Carlos Queiroz led the group B (Portugal, Spain, Morocco, Iran), neither more nor less. Cold with realism and rather sturdy behind Sardar Azmoun and his teammates are now in good condition before facing the Spanish and Portuguese cadors. A context that could be important during the last two days of the group stage. Spain, Iran’s opponent this week, has had a rough first day, ending 3-3 against Portugal. Rather enjoyable to see the game, the Roja has however shown some defensive largesse, well exploited by the champions of Europe 2016. When we know that Iran can be content to stay behind to place some cons, the meeting should not be as simple as that for the band of Hierro.
Iran has made its debut against Morocco (0-1). Asians are first in group B!
Spain showed some defensive weaknesses against Portugal (3-3).
La Roja is not in the best of internal climates, especially after the ousting of Julen Lopetegui. In spite of all that one can say, that necessarily counts.
Iran has lost only 3 of its last 37 games in all competitions. Never by more than one goal of gap.
Spain have won just one of their last six games by more than one goal in advance. So-so.
Iran can be content to counter, currently first in Group B. A draw could almost send Queiroz men in 8th!
In this meeting, the pressure is clearly on Spain. For the moment surprise leaders of their group, the Iranians have no pressure and can be content to defend before placing counters of which they have the secret. So, of course, we are not saying that Spain are not going to win this match, but by more than one goal in advance it seems complicated. This is good, the odds for the bet “Iran wins, draw or Spain wins 1” is offered at the nice odds of 2.25. Much more interesting than a Spanish hit at 1.15. We do not hesitate a second!
