Leipzig – PSG : Preview & Prediction
RB Leipzig was founded in 2009 and quickly rose through the ranks. He finds himself in the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in its history after having taken out Atletico in this Final 8 in Lisbon. Not yet satisfied, the players of Julian Nagelsmann, the youngest coach to reach this level of the competition, will probably give the Parisians a hard time.
After the end of the championship, PSG had to be content with friendly matches and the two cup finals (both won by the capital club) to get back into the competition. After a 1-0 against Saint-Étienne in the Coupe de France and a 0-0 (tab victory) against Lyon for the last edition of the Coupe de la Ligue, Paris won its quarter against Atalanta, another surprise club this season. And not without difficulty, the Parisian club could count on its bench (M’Bappé but especially Choupo-Moting saved their club at the very end of the match).
Leipzig, which finished its championship, has lost only one match (0-2 against Dortmund) out of 10 contested TTC since the resumption.
Leipzig finished leader of their group ahead of Lyon, Benfica and Zenit with 3 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss, before eliminating Tottenham (4-0 overall) and Atletico (2-1).
PSG finished first in their group stage with 5 wins and 1 draw (against Real Madrid) before eliminating Dortmund (3-2 overall) and Atalanta (1-2).
PSG have not lost since the resumption (4 friendlies, 2 cups and the quarter of LdC).
PSG is still losing arms with the package of its goalkeeper Keylor Navas and the uncertainty of Idrissa Gueye, but can count on the return of suspension of Angel Di Maria. Leipzig, which must also do without Werner, transferred to Chelsea, should logically bow. Paris must have learned the lesson of the complicated match against Atalanta, and win to know its first final in this competition.
