For a club like MU, this is still very average, especially as they are coming off a 3-2 defeat by Galatasaray at home in the Champions League. Manchester United’s fans have had better preparations before returning to the world’s greatest championship, especially as the Red Devils had lost the previous week to Crystal Palace at Old Trafford by the narrowest of margins (1-0). As you can see, the lights are not green but red for Erik ten Hag’s side, who have been performing poorly in all competitions. With so few certainties before kick-off, we must hope that Manchester City’s rivals have found a new miracle recipe, or risk witnessing the mythical club’s gradual descent into hell.
Significantly less impressive than last year, and suffering from the absence of Ivan Toney on the front line, the Bees will try to pull off a coup in the North of England, like Crystal Palace very recently. However, it’s hard to be optimistic about the visitors’ chances, given their lack of wins in their last five TCC fixtures (3D-1N). It will be up to Thomas Franck’s men to capitalize on the home team’s many weaknesses and bring a positive result back to the capital after 90 minutes. It’s not going to be an easy task, but if the red and blacks play at their best (as they did last year) then anything is possible at the end of regulation time.
