OLYMPIAKOS – SPORTING PREDICTION (12.09.2017)

Olympiakos – Sporting: Preview & Prediction

Greek champions Olympiakos and third-placed NOS League, Sporting, in one of the most decisive matches for both teams in this group, bearing in mind that, theoretically,

the two places of qualification will be delivered to Barcelona and Juventus, who will compete among themselves the leadership of the group. On the side of the Greeks, the central Jagos Vukovic is low,

while on the side of the Portuguese, Fabio Coentrão and Daniel Podence are unavailable.

Here are the possible starting teams of the match:
To quote
Olympiakos: Kapino, Elabdellao, Romao, Retsos, Milic, Odjidja, Gillet, Pardo, Fortounis, Marin, El Fardou.

Sporting CP: Patricio, Piccini, Coates, Mathieu, Silva, Fernandes, Battaglia, Martins, Acuna, Fernandes, Dost

The Greeks are and have been the chronic national champions in Greece and are therefore a regular presence in the Champions League, although most European campaigns are not worthy of registration,

taking into account that the team can not transport this internal domain to the international competitions, since the requirement and difficulty is totally different;

in addition, the ease of winning the Greek championship turns out to be detrimental to Olympiakos’ competitiveness internationally.

As for Sporting, they reach this stage after eliminating Steaua Bucharest in the Champions League play-off phase, reaching the group stage of the competition for the first time with Jorge Jesus at the helm.

Highlight for the good start of the season of the lions, who are still in the lead of the national championship, remaining to realize how much they can keep this pace in a more demanding test.

Although Olympiakos are not always able to do well in European competitions, given what I said above, I think the team, despite everything,

has clear abilities to compete in the third position with Sporting. This being a complicated stadium to play (most teams can not even score on the Greek champions’ field),

I think Sporting, at most, should only get a draw, worrying later about the match with the Greeks in Lisbon. That way, I believe in a local triumph, by a short margin.
