The club from the French capital is well established at the top of the table, with an 8-point lead over its runner-up. They have just booked their place in the quarter-finals of the French Cup, and will play their Champions League Round of 8 first leg against Real Sociedad in a few days’ time. For their part, LOSC have just been knocked out of the French Cup by OL (2-1). Les Dogues remain in 4th position in Ligue 1, however, and will be looking to make a big impact in Paris.
While PSG can always do better in the game, they are currently enjoying a string of good results. In mid-week, Luis Enrique’s team had no trouble qualifying for the quarter-finals of the French Cup, beating Stade Brestois (3-1). They have also won 3 of their last 4 Ligue 1 matches, to sit comfortably at the top of the table. The club from the French capital is already 8 points ahead of 2nd-placed OGC Nice. Ahead of their Champions League Round of 8 first leg against Real Sociedad, PSG will be keen to continue their fine run against LOSC. The latter have just lost 2-1 to Lyon in the French Cup. In Ligue 1, however, Les Dogues have lost just one of their last 13 matches. They are in 4th position in the French championship.
PSG will be missing a few more players. Sergio Rico, Milan Skriniar, Presnel Kimpembe and Nuno Mendes are all still out. Luis Enrique is still unsure whether he will be able to count on Kylian Mbappé, who suffered an ankle injury in the last French Cup match. Randal Kolo Muani is also doubtful. There’s no doubt that the Paris-based club won’t be taking the slightest risk ahead of the Champions League. Especially as they have other attacking talents in Bradley Barcola and Ousmane Dembélé. As for LOSC, Bafodé Diakité, Samuel Umtiti, Ivan Cavaleiro and Andrej Ilic will be absent. However, Paulo Fonseca will be able to count on Edon Zhegrova, who has been in fine form since the start of the season. He has scored 8 goals and provided 9 assists in all competitions.
