Sporting – Plzen : Preview & Prediction
In the last of the Portuguese league Sporting CP has had the opportunity to reopen the contest, but in the end it has had to bow in front of the mammoth Porto (2-1 the final), even if – like all the big matches that respect – there was no lack of recriminations, polemics, with a semi-brawl in the final. Now the Portuguese will seek redemption in the Europa League: the draw was all in all benevolent, but trouble to approach superficially the match against a Viktoria Plzen who has already proven to put in trouble opponents on the most quoted card.
In the sixteenth, Viktoria Plzen eliminated Partizan, going to draw in Belgrade (1-1) and then winning at home (2-0).
The Sporting, on the other hand, did the opposite: Astana beaten at home (1-3) and then pyrotechnic draw at the return (3-3).
Plzen lost the last of the championship at home (0-1 against Vysocina), but leads the ranking with a very large advantage (nine points with one game less).
With the defeat against Porto last Friday, however, Sporting said goodbye to the ambitions of title, slipping to third place eight points behind the leaders.
Sporting CP have always scored both in the Champions League (except in the double challenge with Barcelona) and in the Europa League. Viktoria in the Europa League away matches the network with continuity.
