West Ham are going through a rather complicated period in the Premier League. The Hammers have not won in 2 league games. It has to be said that they have had to face some tough opposition. The London club managed to hold off Newcastle United (2-2), before being beaten at Aston Villa (4-1). David Moyes’ men were unable to raise their game in the Europa League, however, losing 2-1 to Olympiakos in midweek. They’ll be looking to bounce back on the opening day of the Premier League, this Sunday at 2pm. And they’ll have plenty to do against Everton… The Toffees are at the bottom of the Premier League table. They are in 16th position, just 3 points clear of the red zone. They have already suffered 6 defeats in just 9 league games. Everton are still reeling from a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool in the Mersey derby. This latest away trip promises to be even more complicated, against a team intent on fighting for a place in Europe. West Ham should manage to come away with all 3 points, and move a step closer to the Premier League’s top 5.
