The AIK team has been doing well so far in this edition of the Allsvenskan and goes into the game occupying the 2nd place in the league table, with the same 24 points as Hacken, three above Djurgarden, Hammarby and Malmo. In the last round, the team coached by Bartosz Grzelak was unable to return to the championship after the month-long hiatus in its official competition to fulfill the goal of victory, having been left with the sum of one point in the visit to Degerfors (1-1). During the break, AIK held two preparation matches, where they beat Orebro (3-2) and lost to Molde (2-1).
Mjallby’s team is aiming for the goal of permanence more or less painlessly, but they have managed to run a pretty decent campaign so far, coming into this match occupying the 9th place in the league table with 16 points, one above Norrkoping and one behind Goteborg. Without winning for five consecutive games, in a bad moment that has been dragging on since before the championship break, coach Andreas Brännström’s team has collected only three of a possible 15 points in those five rounds. Last weekend, Mjallby drew at home to Norrkoping (1-1) and reached their second straight draw.
