It is the shock of this last day of the group stage of CAN 2022. And we did not expect to see Algeria in such a situation. Yet considered the big favorites in this competition with Senegal, the Fennecs are in last place in this group E. Too imprecise in the last gesture, the defending champion failed to win when he entered contention against Sierra Leone (0-0). And the worst happened the next day. This time against Equatorial Guinea, the Algerian players still had a lot of trouble in the finish. They were punished at the end of the game and saw their incredible series of unbeaten matches come to an end (1-0). With only one point and still not having scored a single goal in this competition, Algeria will have almost no choice: they will have to win in this clash against Côte d’Ivoire.

Back to the wall, Riyad Mahrez’s teammates will have something to show a completely different face during this match.

It was thought that Côte d’Ivoire and Algeria would compete for first place at the end of this last day of the group stage. Finally, this is not the case for the Fennecs! They play their qualification during this final meeting. It’s hard not to imagine the defending champion pulling out all the stops for the occasion!
