Bugaria and Georgia have been placed in League C of the Nations League and specifically in Group 4, together with Macedonia and Gibraltar. Let us say that if Gibraltar already has its ‘role’ defined in the grouping, namely that of sacrificial victim, for the rest, great balance is announced. And the first round said exactly that. Group 4 is looking for a leadership, which on paper could be Macedonia’s given their recent results (participation in the European Championship and elimination of Italy from the play-offs at the World Cup), but Bulgaria and Georgia will certainly try to hinder the Macedonians’ climb towards the football that counts. Yes, because on the first day Bulgaria managed to give Macedonia a hard time, but not beat them…
The match on Bulgarian soil, in fact, ended in a draw (1-1 the final result, with the hosts leading early on).
Macedonia recovered in the 50th minute, but then in the remaining 40 minutes plus added time neither team managed to impose itself.
Georgia, on the other hand, had little difficulty in getting the better of Gibraltar, who were overwhelmed by four goals.
Gibraltar also failed to overcome the Georgian defence and so the hosts finished with an unbeaten goal.
Race against Gibraltar aside, Georgia have finished the previous four (and five of the previous six) Under 2.5. Bulgaria have never scored more than one goal in their last five matches played. As said, we do not expect a particularly spectacular match: we play Under 2.5.
