Côte d’Ivoire can have great ambitions in this CAN 2022. Despite their premature elimination in World Cup qualifying, Patrice Beaumelle’s team did not wait long to get their heads back. However, the group stage was not going to be easy for the Elephants. However, they got off to a good start against Equatorial Guinea (1-0). Admittedly, they fell from above in the next match against Sierra Leone, conceding the equalizer in the last seconds (2-2). We do not expect a simple match for their round of 16. Ivory Coast will find Egypt. And the Pharaohs are used to playing the final phase of the CAN, for long editions already. However, they have struggled to convince since the start of the competition. After an entry defeat against Nigeria (1-0), the Egyptian players offered themselves two short successes against Guinea-Bissau (1-0) and Sudan (1-0). However, they seem to be too dependent on their star: Mohamed Salah. And the latter will certainly not be able to do everything alone. Faced with an Ivorian selection, with so many qualities on all lines, Egypt could therefore encounter some difficulties. After having succeeded in leaving the defending champion of the CAN, Côte d’Ivoire hopes to dismiss another cador from the African continent.
