A highly competitive double-header between Chelsea and Real Madrid is expected. The two clubs are among the outsiders to win the Champions League. The Blues only finished second in the group stage, behind Juventus, but they were beaten by LOS ANGELES in the last round. They did, however, take on LOSC in the round of 16, winning both matches in a straightforward manner. Now, the situation will certainly not be the same against Real Madrid. This is especially true since they will be hosting the first leg. And Thomas Tuchel’s men have not been in the best of moods before this clash. They have just suffered a heavy defeat, at home, against Brentford (1-4). The result could clearly give Real Madrid ideas. The Madrid club has been very impressive since the beginning of this edition of the Champions League. In the group stage, Carlo Ancelotti’s team finished ahead of Inter Milan. And they had to raise their game for the round of 16! In the first leg against PSG (1-0), the Madrid club seemed to have their backs to the wall when they were also down to the score in the return leg at home. However, Karim Benzema showed them the way! The French striker scored a hat-trick to give Real Madrid a 3-1 win. After returning from injury last weekend after the international break and scoring twice, the Madrid captain seems to be in top form for this match. The La Liga leaders can therefore have high ambitions on the road. They will do their best to come away with at least a draw at Stamford Bridge.
